Follow the Spectrum Teams Up with Dick’s House of Sport for Back-to-School Event in Fayetteville, NC
FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – Follow the Spectrum and Dick’s House of Sport teamed up to host a vibrant “Back to School, Back to Sport” event on Friday afternoon at Freedom Town Center. The event offered an array of engaging in-store activities, including rock climbing, batting cages, and a live DJ performance by DJ Yodo. Attendees enjoyed scavenger hunts with exciting prizes, such as a $100 gift card and 20% off coupons.
At 1 p.m., Follow the Spectrum CEO and founder Kyle Johnson kicked off the event and aided autism families by distributing essential school supplies. These supplies included backpacks, pencils, paper, pens, erasers, school uniforms, and notepads. Johnson was seen high-fiving local youth from the Fayetteville Guard football team, adding to the community spirit. The supplies were donated by generous donors and sponsors, including The River Community Church and WatchOut Cumberland County, reflecting the generosity and support of the local area.
“We’re thrilled to see the community come together to support our families,” said Elijah Cox, vice president and community relations director of Follow the Spectrum. “Events like these are crucial in providing the resources and encouragement our children need to succeed,” added Kres Thomas, president and marketing director.
The event, the second outreach event by Follow the Spectrum this year, drew hundreds of families impacted by autism. It highlighted the nonprofit’s mission to empower and support neurodiverse individuals, making a tangible difference in their educational journeys.
The success of the event was also due to the efforts of Cassandra Parsons and Sydney Parson, who played key roles in encouraging the kids and ensuring a smooth flow of activities. Additionally, Ieshia West was dedicated to distributing backpacks to attendees.
A special thanks to Dick’s House of Sport and their staff for their collaboration and support in this outreach event.
Looking ahead, Follow the Spectrum is planning a superhero-themed event in April 2025, promising more fun and community engagement. For more information on sponsorship and vendor opportunities, visit www.followthespectrumNC.com.For further inquiries, please contact info@followthespectrumnc.com.
